Bloodvine

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 50 meters (164.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 369 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in thin, ridged, black bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale yellow.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of fuzzy, giant, thin leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are purple at the bottom and blood red with brilliant yellow streaks at the top.

In early spring, it produces lots of large, slate blossoms with spear shaped petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like musk.

In late summer it forms large, light brown, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
