Violet
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 637 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in fine, rough, black bark, and inside, the very dense wood is copper-coloured.
The numerous branches trail down across the ground and are covered with copious amounts of smooth, tiny, long, narrow leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are solid violet or cyan, with sky blue patches.
In early spring, it produces balls of medium-sized, bronze blossoms with 3 cylindrical shaped petals. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like paint.
In late summer it forms small, intense red, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
