Crimson Twinevine

This short bine is a very fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 17 feet (5.2 meters) and growing as high as 482 feet (146.9 meters).

It takes 2 months for the pink-red stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are smooth and woody.

The perforated, fuzzy leaves reach up to 3 inches (8 cm) in length. They are violet at the bottom and hazel with cream streaks at the top, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces dozens of small red flowers, and during the early summer, after flowering, it produces copious amounts of large fruits.
