Bluefinger Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big tree grows up to 71 meters (233.0 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 607 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a stocky, curved trunk covered in thick, rough, dark brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of crispy, tiny, finger-like leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are bold purple and sky blue.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, crimson blossoms with broad, flat petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like warm cookies.

In late summer it forms tiny, gold aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
