Climbing Redvine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its green stems grow in bunches of 4 and are very thin with a curved tip, and the tiny, yellow leaves are white on the underside and are very thick with toothed edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Dozens of large flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide, with vibrant red petals and a yellow center. The flower head is largely flat with 33 widely spaced narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like old books, and it has an average amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to butterflies.

It is suitable for making strong rope
