Bloodflower

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stems grow in bunches of 7 and are thin and straight, and the giant, green leaves are wispy with jagged edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Several small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 11 cm (4.3 inches) wide, with petals that are either blood red or green, with a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 11 petals. They detach easily.

It has a soft scent that smells like wet dog, and it has excessive amounts of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.

It can flourish even in standing water.
