Crimson vine

This large vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 303 feet (92.4 meters) and growing as high as 85 feet (25.9 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 5 years for the olive or light purple stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 3 inches (8 cm) and are rough and woody.

The slender, pointed, leathery leaves reach up to 2.0 feet (61 cm) in length. They are found in red and cream varieties, and have smooth edges.
