Copper
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its leaves)This small flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its yellow or blood red stem is very thin, and the huge, copper leaves are broad, flat with wavy edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.
4 to 9 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with petals that are violet on the underside and turquoise on the top. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 54 curved petals. They are very delicate.
It has a mildly strong scent that smells like fermented fruit, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.
It only grows on the most fertile lands.
