Bronze
Flower type: Annual (Stores water in its stem)This large flower grows up to 6.8 feet (2.1 meters) tall. Its bronze or bold yellow stem is wispy and straight, and the tiny, white leaves are very thick with wavy edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.
Each stem splits 4 to 8 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 33 cm (13.0 inches) wide, with alternating petals of light brown and beige, with a copper central disk. The flower head is shaped like a heart made up of several widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are sturdy.
It has a fairly strong scent that smells like wet dog, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
It comes in 81 varieties.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
