Amaranthine Oak
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This enormous tree grows up to 141 meters (462.6 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 214 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, straight trunk covered in thick, ridged, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is dark brown.
The abundance of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with handfuls of sticky, giant, oblong leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either brilliant red, or muted orange with azure dots.
In late summer it forms small, purple aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
