Black Trumpet Flower

Flower type: Annual (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its yellow or brown stem is very thin and straight, and the miniature, brown leaves are pleated with smooth edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 3 to 9 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 20 cm (7.9 inches) wide, with pink petals that gradient shift to black on the outer edge. The central disk is bright blue. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight trumpet. They are sturdy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like sweat, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to bees.

It is suitable for making strong rope
