Yellowwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This enormous tree grows up to 124 meters (406.8 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2395 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in delicate, cracked, light brown bark, and inside, the light wood is pale brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright, with hundreds of twigs covered with sparse amounts of large, yellow-green needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.

In late summer it produces tiny, lime, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
