Copper Flower

Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. Its copper stem is very thin, and the giant, orange leaves are asymmetrical with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

6 to 10 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 16 cm (6.3 inches) wide, with petals that are light brown on the edges and brown at the center. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of many raised, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like roses, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.

It is suitable for making paper
