Hazelflower
Flower type: Annual (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stem is thick, and the small, emerald leaves are light aquamarine on the underside and are spear shaped with wavy edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.
Each stem splits 3 to 6 times; a single large flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are generally hazel; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a dish made up of dozens of widely spaced, narrow petals. They are hardy.
It has a strong scent that smells like fruity, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to butterflies.
