Copperpine
Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This big tree grows up to 80 meters (262.5 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in delicate, cracked, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the dense wood is burgundy.
The tangled mess of branches trail down to the ground, with hundreds of twigs covered with sparse amounts of large, cyan needles. The needles themselves are tough.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, gold, spiky-shelled seeds.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
