Bronzeberry
Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, crooked trunk covered in thick, waxy, gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is black.
The small handful of branches are very short and thick and are covered with small bunches of miniature, sickle shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are solid bronze with subtle purple lines.
In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, bright green blossoms with 5 spiral shaped petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like old books.
In mid-autumn it produces tiny, 2 pointed fruit. The smooth violet skin is peel-able and inedible, and the crunchy bold yellow flesh is sweet and sour and syrupy. The cream seeds are tiny and are bunched at the top of the fruit.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
