Copperneedle Pine
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 129 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a flexible, wonky trunk covered in thin, ridged, brown and grey bark, and inside, the soft wood is white.
The branches are short stubs, with dozens of twigs covered with large amounts of large, copper needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.
In late summer it produces large, deep orange, shelled seeds.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
