Copperleaf
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This giant tree grows up to 130 meters (426.5 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 590 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a branched, angular trunk covered in rough, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is copper-coloured.
The abundance of branches are very long and thin and are covered with large amounts of covered in fine hairs, huge, wide leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are dark grey and copper.
In early spring, it produces hundreds of small, brown blossoms with finger-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like rotting meat.
In late summer it forms small, light brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
Ivy often grows along the trunk.
