Crimson Succulent

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 49 feet (14.9 meters) tall. The thin stem is green or blood red, and is covered in hundreds of rigid light grey spines. The spherical body is lime green, and is covered in lots of flexible hazel spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are black on the underside and brown on the top, grow at the top, reappearing after 8 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 curved petals. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like petrol.

The cactus's skin is thick, the olive flesh is smooth, and the hazel sap is thin.
