Caramel Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This large tree grows up to 86 meters (282.2 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 382 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, twisting trunk covered in delicate, rough, brown-green bark, and inside, the very light wood is white.
The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of fuzzy, large, stiff, pointed leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either blood red or caramel, with white patches.
In early spring, it produces bunches of small, crimson blossoms with long, narrow petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like fermented fruit.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, ashy orange, spiky-shelled seeds.
The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It actively smothers and kills off other plants.
It is suitable for making paper
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
