Clinging Copperflower

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This large flower grows up to 3.8 feet (1.2 meters) tall. Its red stem is very thick, and the giant, copper leaves are dark moss green on the underside and are broad, flat with smooth edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 8 cm (3.1 inches) wide, with petals that are cream in the center, hazel in the middle and indigo at the edges. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 petals. They fall easily.

It has a delicate scent that smells like old books, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
