Ancient Waterfir

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This big tree grows up to 68 meters (223.1 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2739 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, wonky trunk covered in cracked, light gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown.

The branches are very short and thin, with thousands of twigs covered with large amounts of giant, lime green needles. The needles themselves are sturdy.

In late summer it produces tiny, florescent green berries.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
