Bloodfern
Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)This average-sized tree grows up to 29 meters (95.1 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a stocky, twisting trunk covered in hard, ridged, light gray bark, and inside, the dense wood is pine-coloured.
The sparse amount of branches are very short and thin, with hundreds of twigs covered with small amounts of giant, blood red or bronze needles. The needles themselves are light.
In late summer it produces small, brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
