Copper

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.8 feet (53 cm) tall. Its gray stem is wispy, and the huge, copper leaves are sickle shaped with wavy edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Each stem splits 6 to 12 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 37 cm (14.6 inches) wide, with solid blood red petals and a blood red central disk. The flower head is shaped like a star with 54 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They are hardy.

It has a weak scent that smells like varnish, and it has an average amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a variety of insects.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
