Cyanberry
Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 48 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a flexible, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, cracked, brown bark, and inside, the light wood is white.
The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of miniature, spear shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are either blue or cyan, with hazel dots.
In early spring, it produces thousands of large, washed-out orange blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have the faintest scent that smells like cherry.
In early summer it produces , finger-like fruit. The fuzzy blood red skin is thick and spicy, and the crunchy amber flesh is sweet and very dry. The blood red seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.
The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
