Bronze

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 62 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in fine, silky, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale yellow.

The sparse patches of branches are very long and thick and are covered with small bunches of huge, very thin leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are bronze and peach.

In early spring, it produces many balls of medium-sized, beige blossoms with 4 pointed petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have an intense scent that smells like old books.

In mid-summer it produces small, finger-like fruit. The crispy olive skin is thin and inedible, and the very soft amber flesh is sweet and oily. The yellow seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.

Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for making paper
