Copperleaf

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This enormous tree grows up to 106 meters (347.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 379 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in cracked, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very light wood is white.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of rough, small, long, tapering leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are red and hazel.

In late summer it forms large, blood red, shelled seeds.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
