Yellowwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This big tree grows up to 80 meters (262.5 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 69 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, wavy trunk covered in very thick, smooth, yellow bark, and inside, the hard wood is silver.

The branches trail down towards the ground, with dozens of twigs covered with large amounts of small, burgundy needles. The needles themselves are fairly frail.

In late summer it produces small, dark grey aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
