Caramel Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 83 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in delicate, waxy, light gray bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale yellow.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with copious amounts of fuzzy, small, long, tapering leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are bright green and caramel.

In late summer it forms tiny, light brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
