Cheeseblossom Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized tree grows up to 42 meters (137.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 519 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in waxy, black bark, and inside, the hard wood is white with black speckles.

The branches are short and thin and are covered with small amounts of fuzzy, huge, asymmetrical leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are white on the sides and violet at the center.

In early spring, it produces handfuls of giant, white blossoms with shield-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a powerful scent that smells like cheese.

In late summer it forms large, slate, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

Ivy often grows along the trunk.
