Magentaberry

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 49 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a flexible, slanted trunk covered in very thick, silky, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is copper-coloured.

The large clumps of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with handfuls of tiny, stiff, pointed leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either pink, or magenta with deep yellow dots.

In early spring, it produces a handful of small, white blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like vomit.

In mid-autumn it produces small, circular fruit. The rough lilac skin is peel-able and edible when roasted; it is sour, and the very soft magenta flesh is very sour and syrupy. The yellow seeds are large and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is suitable for making paper
