Blue Ribbonvine

This massive bine is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 580 feet (176.8 meters) and growing as high as 448 feet (136.6 meters).

It takes 47 years for the bold blue stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 2.3 feet (69 cm) and are flat and wavy.

The long, narrow, waxy leaves reach up to 8 inches (20 cm) in length. They are solid green or gold, with white patches, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the bine produces large amounts of average peach flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces excessive amounts of small seed pods.
