Copperwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 128 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, crooked trunk covered in hard, ridged, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is yellow.
The tangled mess of branches are very long and slender and are covered with small amounts of smooth, small, pleated leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid green with bronze patches.
In early spring, it produces many giant, red blossoms with 5 pointed petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like warm cookies.
In late summer it forms large, silver seed pods.
The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
The bark is frequently covered in moss.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
