Silverleaf

Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 568 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is black.

The sparse amount of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of smooth, small, sickle shaped leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are solid silver with silver lines.

In late summer it forms giant, red, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
