Violetwood
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 77 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a thick, straight trunk covered in smooth, gray bark, and inside, the light wood is burgundy-brown.
The small bunches of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with thick bunches of soft, small, wide leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are green on the sides and violet at the center.
In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, green blossoms with finger-like petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like paint.
In late summer it forms tiny, pink berries.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
Several parts of the creeper have medicinal properties.
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It is bio-luminescent.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
