Bronze

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This enormous flower grows up to 10.3 feet (3.1 meters) tall. Its moss green stems grow in bunches of 6 and are very thick and straight, and the giant, orange leaves are pleated with serrated edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 70 cm (27.6 inches) wide, with alternating petals of dark brown and white, with a bronze central disk. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. They detach easily.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like a damp log, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also particularly attractive to insects.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The leaves are excellent for making pulp fibers.
