Emerald Blue
Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This average-sized flower grows up to 11 inches (28 cm) tall. Its emerald stem is very thick and splits into 3 branching stems halfway up, and the giant, pastel green or bright purple leaves are dark orange-yellow on the underside and are very narrow and elongated with smooth edges. 4 leaves grow at the base of the stem.
Around 60 medium-sized flowers grow in a bunch at the end of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with solid blue petals decorated with pale red lines and a pastel blue central disk. The flower head is largely flat with 39 tightly layered narrow petals. They are very delicate.
It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cherry, and it has a fair amount of pollen. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
