Blackberry

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized tree grows up to 34 meters (111.6 feet) tall and lives for over 2,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 2788 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, straight trunk covered in knobbly, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy.

The branches are short stubs, with hundreds of twigs covered with copious amounts of large, lime green needles. The needles themselves are strong.

In late summer it produces small, olive, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
