Clinging Elm
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 188 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.
It has a branched, slanted trunk covered in knobbly, brown-green bark, and inside, the light wood is white.
The branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with copious amounts of clammy, miniature, needle-like leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are orange on the sides and copper at the center.
In late summer it forms large, brown, shelled seeds.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
