Blueleaf Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 605 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, wavy trunk covered in paper-thin, knobbly, dark brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is brown.
The branches are very long, thin and wispy and are covered with small bunches of sticky, giant, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are red at the bottom and sky blue with orange splotches at the top.
In late summer it forms small, slate seed pods.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.
Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
