Crimson Clinger

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This modest-sized flower grows up to 7 inches (18 cm) tall. Its emerald stems grow in bunches of 3 and are thin with a curved tip, and the tiny, green or crimson leaves are dark lime green on the underside and are slender, pointed with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem.

Each stem splits 5 to 11 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 10 cm (3.9 inches) wide, with petals that are purple in the center, cream in the middle and beige at the edges. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.

It has a fairly strong scent that smells like new books, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
