Copperwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This massive tree grows up to 105 meters (344.5 feet) tall and lives for over 1,000 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 1706 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, wavy trunk covered in thick, rough, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the flexible wood is light brown.

The branches trail down to the ground, with thousands of twigs covered with handfuls of giant, copper needles. The needles themselves are flexible.

In late summer it produces tiny, brown, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
