Crimson Tree

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This average-sized tree grows up to 49 meters (160.8 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 698 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, wavy trunk covered in fine, knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the flexible wood is brown.

The branches are long and thick and are covered with small bunches of smooth, huge, heart-shaped leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are either crimson or bold yellow, with brown zig-zags.

In early spring, it produces clusters of tiny, light brown blossoms with heart-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a mildly strong scent that smells like old shoes.

In late summer it forms giant, caramel, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
