Bluebell

Flower type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big flower grows up to 6.2 feet (1.9 meters) tall. Its amber stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the small, moss green leaves are 7 pointed with smooth edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

A single small flower sits at the end of each stem. The flowers are 26 cm (10.2 inches) wide, with petals that are generally blue; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 48 widely spaced, narrow petals. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like new carpet, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind.

It is suitable for making strong rope
