Caramel

Flower type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This big flower grows up to 4.4 feet (1.3 meters) tall. Its subtle yellow stem is very thick and splits into 4 branching stems at the top, and the miniature, brown leaves are light gray on the underside and are broad, flat with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 1 to 3 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 43 cm (16.9 inches) wide, with solid black petals and a caramel central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 60 petals. They are hardy.

It has a soft scent that smells like sugar, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to insects.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
