Clinging Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 187 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a wide, wonky trunk covered in fine, ridged, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the very dense wood is gray.

The small bunches of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with very large amounts of rough, small, stiff, pointed leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are dark brown on the edges and copper at the center.

In late summer it forms large, caramel, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
