Copperwood

Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives seemingly forever, with many known specimen being tens of thousands of years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, slanted trunk covered in hard, knobbly, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The branches are very long and thin, covered with copious amounts of miniature, orange-yellow needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.

In late summer it produces small, brown aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with patches of undergrowth between them.

It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
