Burgundy Pineapple Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This short tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 589 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a slender, straight trunk covered in waxy, burgundy bark, and inside, the very hard wood is black with white speckles.
The excessive amount of branches are long and thin and are covered with small bunches of smooth, miniature, spear shaped leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are either orange, or crimson with hazel patches.
In early spring, it produces copious amounts of medium-sized, hazel blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like pineapple.
In late summer it forms giant, red, winged seeds that float and land far away.
The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.
Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
