Blacktwig
Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives "forever", with many known specimens being tens of thousands of years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.
It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in fine, waxy, black with white speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.
The small bunches of branches trail down towards the ground, with dozens of twigs covered with large amounts of giant, orange-yellow needles. The needles themselves are durable.
In late summer it produces medium-sized, slate, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
