Clinging Willow

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This colossal tree grows up to 149 meters (488.9 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 500 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a flexible, wavy trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, burgundy bark, and inside, the soft wood is white with black speckles.

The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of soft, tiny, teardrop-shaped leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in blood red and peach varieties.

In early spring, it produces many balls of small, lime blossoms with stiff, pointed petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like a damp log.

In late summer it forms small, gold, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
